Debbie Brereton is in her first year as assistant coach for the Lady Bucs.

Brereton comes to CBU after playing three seasons in the W-League and the WPSL. This summer, she led the San Diego Sunwaves to the W-League Western Conference championship, as they went 8-3 with one tie. She played in all 12 games this year, collecting one goal and four assists.

In 2006, she led the WPSL's Tennessee Lady Blues with seven goals in six appearances, helping them finish second in the Midwest Division. In 2005, she scored three goals in two games for the W-League's Hampton Roads Pirahnas before suffering a season-ending injury.

Brereton graduated from Middle Tennessee State University after being named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year. She scored 19 goals with nine assists as a senior, ranking fifth in the nation in scoring. She was named one of the 30 members of the Sun Belt All-Time Team.

Prior to attending MTSU, she played three years at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla. As a freshman, she played for then-graduate assistant coach Kieron Heblich.

As a junior, she was named to the All-Lone Star Conference Second Team after scoring a team-high 11 goals. She also holds the single-season assist record at NSU with 12.
