Scott Groninger is in his fourth season at the helm of the Lady Bucs' basketball program.

In 2006-07, the Lady Bucs started 7-4, but they struggled to a 10-17 finish. The Lady Bucs went 9-7 at Canale Arena, including back-to-back GSC West home wins at the end of the season.

In his first season at CBU, the Lady Bucs opened up the year 7-0 and captured the championship at the Delta State University Holiday Classic on their way to a 13-13 record.

In his second year, Groninger's young team, featuring five freshmen, four sophomores, and four juniors with no seniors, started 6-1 before struggling down the stretch in GSC West play. The Lady Bucs went 3-5 at home in the GSC and 7-6 overall at home. The Lady Bucs finished third in the GSC in field goal defense and second in blocked shots.

Groninger came to CBU from Chowan College in Murfreesboro, NC where he led the women's team to 18 wins and the college's first conference championship. Groninger also earned conference Coach of the Year honors.

Prior to Chowan, Groninger served as an assistant women's basketball coach at the University of Kentucky and Chicago State University. He also coached the men's basketball team at Chattanooga State Technical Community College from 1995-1999 directing that program to its first-ever national ranking.

Groninger holds a B.S. in business administration from William Jewell College and a Masters degree in health sciences from Georgia Southern University.

He and his wife, Kelly, have three childeren: Megan (18), Kristen (15) and Mary-Kate (12). Megan is playing tennis this year at William Jewell.
